Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia P-P-P-Porridge :)

Here is a simple recipe for a nutritious and FAST breakfast or anytime snack!

Homemade almond milk.
Add water and a small handful of soaked almonds so together they measure at the one cup line.
Blend until totally smooth.  I personally do not strain it.  I just pour it right in.

 1/2 banana

 2 Tablespoons chia seed

Mash the banana and chia and almond milk together

You can eat it immediately or wait about 6 mins for the chia to get "jelly-ee".
I love to add about a teaspoon of grade b maple syrup.  But we finished our bottle over the weekend. :(

Go ahead... you won't be able to control yourself! :)

Give yourself permission to have the best Monday ever!!

Chia Porridge
Homemade almond milk, or store bought,--Water and a small handful of almonds,
preferably almonds soaked, so together they come to the 1 cup line in the blender

1/2 ripe banana

2 T chia seeds

Optional: 1 tsp grade b maple syrup or sweetener of choice.

It really does not matter the order.  Pour in almond milk over banana, add chia seeds and mash together with a fork.  You can eat immediately or wait a couple of minutes to let the chia turn more of a jelly texture.  Make sure to "chew" as you eat for maximum digestion and assimilation.
The maple syrup is a really fun optional treat.

Enjoy!!
Have a beautiful day!
WITH LOVE!

Also I realize that it is a shift in our thinking to use something other than bleach or some other harsh chemical to feel like a surface or toilet is really clean.  Take another look at my previous post and all of the natural cleaning properties that are in these oils, antimicrobial, antibacterial, antiviral...etc. :)  THEY REALLY DO CLEAN!!!

Okay sweet people.  I thought that I should try these recipes out before I gave them to you, but what I want to do is to turn you loose and YOU TELL ME which you like! :)  I will continue to post and tell you what I am liking, but it will be fun for you to do a little exploring yourselves.

All-Purpose Spray:
All-Purpose Cleaner
2 c. vinegar
2 c. distilled water
10 drops Lemon Essential Oil
Tip: Shake well before each use.

CARPET CLEANING AND REFRESHER

I use 3 cups baking soda with about 20 to 25 drops of essential oil – I use Lemon or Citrus Bliss or On Guard, in a container glass or plastic. Mix thoroughly cover and let sit 12 or so hours. Then sprinkle it on your carpet I let it sit a while – usually 1 to 2 hours, some people do it overnight and vacuum!

Bathroom/ Counter Discinfectant
2 cups water
10-15 drops lemon or onguard, I like to do a little of both.

Basic Cleaning Solution:

In a glass spray bottle full of water, mix together:
·                     Purify, or Citrus Oil (3 drops)
·                     Peppermint (3 drops)
·                     On Guard (2 drops)
You can use this solution to clean and disinfect any surface that needs to be wipe down such as: door knobs, light switches, interior of car, outside of toilets, counter tops etc. Since oil and water will separate, make sure to shake before spraying.

Linen/Bed Spritzer:

Freshen your bed linens as you make beds or prior to bed time as you turn down the sheets. Not only will it kill germs and pathogens, it will repel dust mites, bed bugs, fleas and spiders. It also leaves a clean fresh smell. Dust mites live in your bedding, feeding from the dead skin cells you constantly shed.

In a small glass spray bottle, mix;

·                     ½ - 1 Cup distilled or filtered water
·                     10 drops Citrus Oil
·                     10 drops Lavender
Also consider a few drops of eucalyptus (Breathe™ has eucalyptus in it) occasionally as studies show it is effective killing dust mites.

Spray over turned down sheets and pillows a few minutes prior to bed time. Use Serenity™ to help induce a restful sleep. Consider Spritzing closets where clothes or coats are hanging. Or drawers and freshly folded laundry.

Countertop Disinfectant:
(I think that this one uses more oils that I would personally for just 2 cups of solution)

Ingredients:
1 cup distilled white vinegar 1 cup filtered or distilled water

Option 1: 30 drops melaleuca oil 5 drops peppermint essential oil 5 drops lavender essential oil
Option 2: 30 drops white fir 5 drops melaleuca oil 5 drops grapefruit oil
Option 3: 35 drops On Guard™ 5 drops Purify™

Fill a glass spray trigger bottle with ingredients and shake to mix well. Spray on countertops and wipe with cloth or clean sponge. Shake often.

Not-Wood Floor Cleaner- to Mop:

Use drops, about 15 (use your judgement here, don't break the bank, put in 10 and see if that's enough, if not, put in a few more) of your favorite oil & mix with sink or bucket of warm water. I LOVE ONGUARD AND LEMON!

Fill bucket or sink with water and mix in oils.  ENJOY!!

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LIKING AND

USING!!  ANYONE USED A RECIPE FROM LAST

POST YET?

I really am so grateful to have essential oils in my

Clean, Dance, and Clean Some More!

What good group of friends these are! :)  I am going to start out with basic recipes with these basic ingredients.  You can find other recipes for cleaning with doTERRA oils that have Castille Soap, borax, or some other ingredients.  I may include those in a latter post.  But in the current moment.  I really just want you to dive in and already have the ingredients you need.  There are many, many variations of these recipes.

Experiment and see what you like best, you may could use more oils, or less, or even less vinegar, etc. Google "cleaning with doTERRA essential oils" and it always brings a good time! :)  I will give a couple of recipes just in case you have a preference.  I will write the one that I have tried first.  Don't hesitate to make these recipes your own.  I always try to go a little less on the more expensive ingredients. :)

So....READY....TAKE OFF THOSE CLEANING GLOVES....SET....PREPARE FOR AWESOMENESS....AND GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***************************************

Glass/Mirror Cleaner
2 cups water
1/4 cup vinegar
7-10 drops of lemon or wild orange oil.

Store in a glass spray bottle and any extra in a glass jar, i.e. mason jar.  Always shake before using to distribute the ingredients throughout.

It seems like it is going to be streaky-but just make sure to keep buffing until it is completely dry.

Alternative recipe:
1 1/2 Vinegar
1/2 Cup Water
8 drops any citrus oil
I threw some water on this mirror a couple of days ago so it would be dirty.  I have been having VERY clean mirrors lately, because I love using this cleaner. :)

Whoa!  Is there a mirror there? :)

***************************************

I have been LOVING using this on my wood kitchen table and a tea table that we have in our front room.  I really have to mix it well with each use and then dip the paper towel, or cloth in rather quickly, because it separates fairly fast.  After I did a first wipe-down of the wood, I make sure to do a couple of swipes with a dry paper towel, just to get rid of any oiliness

Wood Polish

¼ cup olive oil

¼ cup vinegar

10 drops Wild orange essential oil or Lemon essential oil

Cloth or Paper Towel

Mix well with each use and apply; wipe clean.

STORE IN A GLASS TUPPERWARE OR MASON JAR

Alternative Recipe:

1/3 tsp Olive Oil

1/4 cup Vinegar

4 drops Lemon Oil

I used a fork to mix it up before use.

I do not have a wooden floor, so I have not tried this following recipe.  But if I did I would! :)

WOODEN FLOOR CLEANER
1 Part White Vinegar
1 Part Water
Add:
5 drops Lemon oil,
2 drops Melaleuca oil
5 drops Lavender oil

You could use this as a spray, or in a bucket for some mopping action.

***************************************

Inside Toilet Germ Buster:
1/2 cup baking soda
5-8 drops of doTERRA's lemon, Onguard, or Purify oil
1/2 cup white vinegar (The last recipe below uses less vinegar)

Pour baking soda, then essential oils, then vinegar into toilet.  Scrub and let sit overnight or all day, if you can.

Alternative Recipe I:
1 Cup Borax
1/4 C Vinegar or Lemon Juice
6 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
Pour in toilet bowl, let sit at least 2 hours, scrub and flush.

Alternative Recipe II:

½ cup baking soda
10 drops melaleuca, or oil of choice.
¼ cup vinegar
Pour in toilet bowl, let sit at least 2 hours, scrub and flush

I will post more recipes as I try them.  I don't want

to post anything that I haven't used and loved!  :)

With love and joy!

Off the Hizzy Cleaning Option!!!

So for most of you probably guessed that I am talking about cleaning with doTERRA's essential oils as the other method of cleaning that would be an awesome alternative to the chemical cleaning of less than par. :)  Personally, cleaning with the oils literally makes cleaning SOOO MUCH FUN for me.  I love that they are such powerful cleaners AND we get therapeutic benefits when we clean with them in our home.  I literally jump to start my cleaning now that I am using oils to clean.

I wanted to do a little cat-walk with the oils and highlight their effective and very fantastic qualities.  These are just a few of the oils that I chose to highlight.  Most ALL of the oils have cleaning properties.  I sourced my info from "MODERN ESSENTIALS" book, that I normally call the Bible for essential oils.  It really is a must have book.

LEMON—antiviral, antiseptic, uplifting, antifungal, antioxidant, astringent, invigorating
WILD ORANGE—antiseptic antifungal, antibacterial, disinfectant, antidepressant

PURIFY— antiseptic, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, smells clean

MELALEUCA—antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, a strong antiseptic, antioxidant, immune stimulant, insecticidal

PEPPERMINT—antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral, invigorating, anticarcinogenic
ONGUARD (contains: Wild Orange, Clove Bud, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus radiata, Rosemary)—antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral

LAVENDER--antifungal, antihistamine, anti-infectious, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antitoxic

These oils are so powerful that when we clean with them, they need to be stored in glass spray bottles, or containers.   I get my glass spray bottles from aromatools.com.  They are a couple of dollars and very worth the money.  I personally have a bottle for a glass cleaner, dust mites, bathroom cleaner, counter cleaner, and I would say that that is the bare basics if that were all that you would order, about 4 bottles.  It is always fun though to have a spare bottle to make a new kind of cleaner trying out new oils.  I have been enjoying the 8oz or 16oz size of amber bottle.  The 32oz is a little heavy when full, so I would end up only filling it up half way.   You have to order the spray nozzle separate from the bottle and in total they are still under $2 a piece.  If you want to make sure that you order exactly what you want I would order over the phone.  Their contact info is below.

If you are local I did buy extra bottles when I went to aromatools if you would like to save shipping.

Cleaning With Essential Oils Series!!!!!

WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!  Is all that I can say and think when I realize how easy and wonderful it is that we can all get the nasty chemical cleaners out of our homes, for good!  Here are a few tidbits that will suggest that natural cleaners and cleaning with doTERRA essential oils is the way to go.

WHY TO SAY "NO" TO CHEMICAL
CLEANING METHODS OF THE PAST:

  1. In 2000, cleaning products were responsible for nearly 10% of all toxic exposures reported to U.S. Poison Control Centers, accounting for 206,636 calls.
    1. Of these, 120,434 exposures involved children under six, who can swallow or spill cleaners stored or left open inside the home.
  2. Chemical cleaners contribute to indoor air pollution and increases toxicity of the home.  They are still in the air of your home HOURS after you use them, even though you cannot smell them.
  3. Chemicals contaminate any surface used on.  If you clean the floor with a toxic cleaner and then "wipe" it away it will still get onto the skin of anyone who comes into contact with the surface.
  4. Poisonous in nature, not only if ingested.  Must wear gloves and make sure NOT TO BREATHE IT!!  ha ha.  Not quite sure how to accomplish the feat of not breathing while cleaning. :):):)
  5. Fragrances added to many cleaners, most notably laundry detergents and fabric softeners, may cause acute effects such as respiratory irritation, headache, sneezing, and watery eyes in sensitive individuals or allergy and asthma sufferers. The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has found that one-third of the substances used in the fragrance industry are toxic.
  6. Chemicals that are so-called "hormone disruptors" can interfere with the body's natural chemical messages, either by blocking or mimicking the actions of hormones. (SOURCE:http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_279.cfm)

Wouldn't it be awesome to know of a way to clean that wasn't total death to you and your environment in your home and the earth?????   Well I will tell you after cleaning my home growing up and also cleaning hotel rooms, I sure wish that I would have know about an alternative.

Which makes me SOOO excited to share with you a 100% safe, eye-popping effective, and putting the booty dancing back into cleaning where it belongs method next post.

Awkward Topics That Needn't Be:),--DIGESTION

Elysha's Top 6 Simple Tips for Better Digestion

1) Don't eat at least 2 hours before bed

2) At least a pint of water upon waking in the morning, preferably with lime or lemon juice in it.

3) Eat FERMENTED FOODS AND BEVERAGES

4) Watch your placement of fruit.  Eat fruit alone or with greens, NOT AFTER OR DURING A MEAL.  This varies from person to person, maybe this is not an issue for you.  If it is, give it a shot, eliminate the fruit during or after a meal and see if your digestion improves. I eat them in the morning at least 20 mins before I eat anything else, except greens.  Eat your green smoothies! :)

5) Drink water at least 20 minutes before a meal.  NOT DURING!  If you need something during a meal, choose apple-cider vinegar water, or "Sassy" water, made from an essential oil metabolic blend from doTERRA.
SASSY WATER
5 drops of doTERRA's "Slim and Sassy" metabolic essential oil blend per quart of water.  Drink throughout the day.
Apple-Cider Vinegar Water
4 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar (the kind with "The Mother" present, I use Bragg's) per quart of water,
and about the same amount of honey, 4 tsp... or to taste.

6) Stop eating your meal when you are 80% full.  It does not help ANYONE if you over eat, especially your digestion. :)

At the end of the day, the most important thing is self-love.  These are guidelines with which I have had great success.  Contour them to you and what works for you.  If you fall off the wagon, no worries... laugh, love yourself and joyfully leap back on. Make it SUSTAINABLE for you!

Enjoy the now! Love the now!
Joyfully,
Elysha
